Christmas in Chicago is wonderful. But... it's cold and dark, and, well, sometimes I just wish it was summertime and that I was back in Italy instead!
So, here are three books that I'm reading this fall/winter that are transporting me to everyone's favorite boot-shaped nation during holiday down-time:
1. Loyalty by Lisa Scottoline
I finished this one a few weeks ago. If you like mafia stories, you'll enjoy this page-turner that starts with a kidnapping in Sicily. The story spans decades, and Scottoline expertly interweaves these characters together that will keep you guessing until the end.
2. When in Rome by Liam Callanan
This book is next on my list. Claire decides to start over at fifty-two years-old. Where, you ask? The Eternal City, of course! In a convent. Yes, with nuns. I can't wait to start this one!
3. The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti by Jennifer Probst
I've been meaning to read this one for months, but I'm finally going to get to it this winter! Three estranged sisters travel to the Amalfi Coast to get to the bottom of a romance their mother had kept a secret. Juicy, right?
